The Senior Women take home the Toronto Rugby Union ‘A’ division title in 2009.

Congratulations Viking Women on a fantastic season.  We are once again Toronto Rugby Union Champions!

This season was filled with hard work on and off the field and numerous memorable moments.  The vets of 2010 are concerned that the rookie party of 2009 will never be topped.  We had an outstanding night celebrating with Holly Broome during her bachelorette.  We chilled on Lake Muskoka, relaxed pool side, and slid down a 90 foot slip and slide.  We party just as hard as we play.

Our club has so many fantastic members it is difficult to point out only a few during our awards ceremony.  We are proud of all of our athletes and we nominated the following players for their outstanding contribution to our team on and off the field in 2009;

Women’s MVP awarded to Jessica Hill
Women’s Rookie of the year awarded to Andrea Lavelle
Women’s Viking awarded to Erin Dancey

In the 2010 season we welcome new recruits of all experience levels.  Training will begin indoors in early April and continue outdoors into the spring.  For further team information, contact Chris McKee at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. GREAT WEEKEND FOR VIKINGS WOMEN
Two weekends past was the best in the history of the Oshawa Vikings Women's Program. The women's team overcame a rough July which had them finishing a disappointing 3rd in the Toronto Rugby Womens “A” Division. However they were able to regroup and save their best rugby for August where they took on 2nd place Balmy Beach in the semi finals and came out on top. This past Saturday they took on the very strong Oakville Crusaders in the Women's final at Fletchers Field where both teams entertained a a large crowd including members of the US and French Women's National sides who seemed quite impressed with the level of play. In a see saw battle which saw both teams hold the lead throughout the game, the Vikings clung to a 7 point lead for the final 20 minutes of the game until CRU scored with 2 minutes remaining. However the conversion was missed and the Vikings played some stellar defense to hold on to a well earned 19-17 win.

On Sunday Lisa Poff, Tyson Beukeboom and Courtney MacLean, who played great games for the women's team 20 hours earlier led their underdog Girls U-18 side out against the undefeated Brampton team. The 3rd seeded Vikings had already upset the 2nd seed Toronto Irish earlier in the week while playing short and were prepared to do it again when only 14 girls were available for the Sunday afternoon final. The Vikings were led once again by the leadership and scoring of Beukeboom , Poff and MacLean in a 15-10 upset win for the Championship (the first in club history) Vikings womens and girls coach Chris McKee said “This is the best weekend in the history of our women's program” “ The girls played awesome, and its great that this happened in our 50th Anniversary year”.
